What would you send into space if you wanted aliens to know about Earth? In 1977, NASA sent two spacecraft called Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on a journey into space. Each spacecraft carried something very special — a golden record. The record contains pictures, sounds, greetings in different languages and music from Earth. There is classical music, traditional music and music from different parts of the world. The people who made the record wanted to show what life on Earth was like. They even included sounds such as birds, thunder, laughter and a baby's cry. The Voyager spacecraft are still travelling through space today. One day, perhaps someone — or something — far away might find the record and discover the music of Earth.
